I was full of fear when it came to moving into halfway for the first time. I didn’t know what to expect but I knew that it was an important part of the recovery process. It ended up changing my life and its where I finally became a man. I was immediately met by leadership and accountability from the other tenants. I was constantly being guided into the right direction and for the first time I was actually willing to follow the right people. I ended up living there for 18 months and the house just grew on me. The owners, Neil and Patrick were there for me when I had any questions and concerns. They would stop by unannounced just to make sure that the house was being ran the way they expected it to be. Any issues that arose with the house were always addressed immediately. I became assistant manager after a few months of living there, and eventually became manager. For the first time in my life I became a leader and it changed me for the better. My whole life I struggled with having a voice of my own, but in recovery you need to be comfortable with doing the things that make you uncomfortable. I couldn’t have chose a better halfway to go to after treatment. Today I have 2.5 years and currently have a place with one of my halfway roommates. I still use the skills that I have learned along the way while in halfway. I will forever be grateful/thankful for that experience.

I’ve been to many halfway houses, both in Florida and Philadelphia and none have come close to what Faith over Fear provided for me. It all starts with the owners Patrick and Neil, from day one they made me feel comfortable and supported. They go above and beyond and even provide support to my family back home. They showed me that being sober could be fun. They had me involved with softball and other recovery activities. The houses they run gave me a clean, drug free environment to begin my journey.

They saw potential in me and even asked me to manage one of their houses. I can say with 100% certainty that Faith over Fear played the most crucial role in my sobriety. The support and faith they showed in me has made me the man I am today.

I spent 1 year and 9 months at Faith Over Fear. Neil and Pat provided me with a safe and supportive environment where I was able to practice what I learn in treatment, embrace the 12 steps and learn how to manage my life substance free.

My life has dramatically changed. I now have amazing relationships with my family and friends. I just purchased a home, but most of all… I found peace!
